Fieldwork, bird ecology and technical skills in one person
I have extensive experience with birds and professional bird surveys, working at the intersection of field biology, data management and visual documentation.
My work has covered bird surveys, bird ecology, raptors, breeding birds, waterbirds and bird migration, as well as wind-power related bird studies and ongoing environmental monitoring. I have surveyed from land, from boat and from aircraft, working with visual surveys, digital aerial surveys and radar-based migration studies.
Alongside the fieldwork I work with GIS, map production and data management – from collection structure and quality assurance to analysis and finished maps for reports. Photography and film are an integrated part of the same work: documentation of species, habitats and project areas, and visual material that can be used in reports, on the web and in communication.
This means an assignment can be held together by one person – from method selection and fieldwork to data, maps and finished visual material.
